A new study by BloomReach has found that 55% of all consumers begin their product searches on Amazon. That’s 55% of ALL American consumers. Not just online shoppers. Only 28% start their search on a search engine. Another 16% start by stopping into a physical store.
And that’s not all. Around 90% of shoppers who find an item on a company’s main website will price shop on Amazon. Why? Because Amazon has perfected the art of online shopping. Consumers rave about the site’s superior search capabilities, including product filtering.
Going into the holidays, 94% of respondents to the BloomReach survey said they plan to shop Amazon for their holiday gift lists. Let that sink in a moment. A whopping 94% of your target audience is doing at least some holiday shopping on Amazon. If they do happen to land on your main website, 90% of them will still go back to Amazon to make sure they’re getting the best deal.
